using outlook 2000 at random error 0x800ccc15

using outlook 2000 at random error 0x800ccc15 unable to connect to server- other email progs work and browser access works

I havent seen this before but perhaps what the error code means may help.

It mainly implies a socket error. You may need to check if there is any program interfering with outlook.

Thanks, I shall try a note if this happens when another program runs
You can also start outlook in safe mode and check. At start > run - type : outlook /safe and recheck. This would disable any add-ins that may be giving any conflicts.

I ended up uninstalling the programs and loading again and it then run properly
There does seem to be a problem when Outlook gets into the "running applications" twice is there any way to prevent this
