HTTP 500 Internal Server Error :(

I can log in to the database

https://comtra1.company.com/ecr/ecr036.nsf

From here I see

DATABASE TITLE

Views

ECRs

When I click the ECRs view I get the HTTP 500 Internal Server Error

Normally what happens is when the view is clicked the $$ViewTemplateDefault is displayed and all the views are there in the OverAll Navigator

I thought maybe there was a field that was not computing correctly causing the page not to display, but I can not find the field.  Can this be caused from something else

Check domlog.nsf and log.nsf for errors  and post it here.

As of right now - I do not have access to any log files.  Our system administrators does not allow us access to the servers.

Create a form by name  $$returngeneralerror and then put a field called as messagestring and then try to do the same thing

It is usually an error in a formula somewhere. Now how to find it? I assume it's the ViewTemplate, so can you rename it and try again? To find the error there, the usual process of "delete 1 field, then retry" works best. On the other hand, look at all fields on the form, all formulas, and add @If(@Iserror... everywhere.

In Thingum's name, please, can you ask "them" to set up your own development server (any PC will do, even your development system), so you can properly develop your software? Or you do it yourself? You NEED access to those logs, otherwise you're completely handicaped. You don't go back to your garage when your ashtray is full, do you? As a temporary solution, make a copy of that db, remove all ACL you don't need, give Anonymous high access rights, and then use Preview in Webbrowser on your LOCAL system. That will start an HTTP server process on your client. It will hopefully log in your own log.nsf...
