Hi Experts,

i'm trying to find an application how help me to keep my file protected with a password... like a safe folder. Do you have any ideas?!?!
I know some are free and use a kind of 128 encryption.

Oh, yeah....

You can also use WinRAR if it's something you are just archiving and hanging on to.  Just make sure you use a crackerproof password (at least 15 digits, mixture of upper and lower case, mixture of alphanumerics and non-alphanumerics characters).

Also look inside the app with which you have created this file. Many such apps have the builtin possibility of protecting it with a password. Apps like Openoffice, or even m$ apps like word, excel etc have this builtin...

Are you using XP Pro ??   ... if so, all you have to do is right-click on the folder you want to encrypt; select Properties;  click the Advanced tab; and check the box to Encrypt the contents.   DONE !!

But be SURE and keep a backup copy of your encryption key -- you cannot access the data without it !!

encrypt your entire disk or create an encrypted hidden drive. it's a free open source program, worths a test.
