Problem with POP3 configuration

Exchange server 2003 installed fine, no errors on installation.  However when I try to use the POP3 protocol the default POP3 Virtual Server was not started. Trying to start the POP3 service I get the following error:

"The server did not respond to the start request in a timely fashion"

It then says to check the event log but there is no entry at all under any of the categories.

I have rebooted several times but that has not helped.

Any ideas?

hey hey.....

U know what by default the msexchangepop service is disabled in the services console...

You need to set it to automatic and start it before you can start the POP virtual server.
