is there a way to set the filter to look for 2 different types of files..
I type this in the property box under filter

Filter = *.xls, *.doc

I have not been able to get it to work

use empty string to watch for all files

You could also create
several FileSystemWatchers (array) and hook them up with the same event,
like this:

TextFileWatcher.Created += new FileSystemEventHandler(Watchers_Created);
ExeFileWatcher.Created += new FileSystemEventHandler(Watchers_Created);
