Hi

We want to upgrade our Notes servers from Notes 5 to Notes 6. We also wanted to replace the hardware at the same time. The way in which we thought it would be of a minimal risk is to
1. add new Notes 6.5 server to the existing domain
2. move from the old server to the new Notes 6.5 server and Convert all mail files to R6.5
3. Move notes databases from the old server to the new server

However I understand that there might be an issue with connections to databases on the old server from links within the mail files. Is that correct. If yes please advise the possible solution.

Thanks & regards

It would also be best to consider changing the R 6.5 Servers Notes name and IP address to the Old servers, after shutting it down.

This will prevent  most issues.

You may need to remove it from your Windows Domain/ WINS and AD before adding the new one back.

I hope this helps !
