Hello,
I have been using dw8 with all updates, I am on xp sp2 and my db is mySql

I have a page i added an insert SB to it, all is fine, I then go and change the code slightly.

    'MM_editCmd.Parameters.Append MM_editCmd.CreateParameter("param9", 5, 1, -1, MM_IIF(Request.Form("whowho"), Request.Form("whowho"), null)) ' adDouble

above is the orignal line which i have commented out

below is the same line but slightly changed by hand

   MM_editCmd.Parameters.Append MM_editCmd.CreateParameter("param9", 5, 1, -1, MM_IIF(session("kt_login_id"), Session("kt_login_id"), null)) ' adDouble

my questino is why does this freeze dreamweaver when I try and reopen the page at a later date, I thought one could change dw eneric code a little.

does this happen to every one else or is it just what i have done is so tottally crap that dw has to freeze.

Hello, Could some one be so kind as to check this for me.
I have dw 8 with the latest .o2 update, I have added an insert server behaviour to my page. here is one of the inputs

 MM_editCmd.Parameters.Append MM_editCmd.CreateParameter("param9", 5, 1, -1, MM_IIF(Request.Form("whowho"), Request.Form("whowho"), null)) ' adDouble

the above  shows the ASP input from a hiddenfield on my page, this all works, I then desided I would prefer to have it as a session variable.  so I change the code as follows

 MM_editCmd.Parameters.Append MM_editCmd.CreateParameter("param9", 5, 1, -1, MM_IIF(Session("whowho"), Session("whowho"), null)) ' adDouble

I test it and it all works, but then I close the page, when I later try and reopen the page dreamweaver freezes, I then reboot dreamweaver and then try and reopen it, and yet again dw freezes, it is only when i go in with note pad and change the above line to its orignal state.

my q is, is this what I can now expect from dw when I try and change a small bit of its code, does dreaweaver now realy only for the amature who just wants the code that dreamweaver createds and nothing else, this is a right bummer. I just did a total reinstall to find out was it my pc but then I find nothing has changed, it would be nice to have other peoples view on this.

regards

kenny

Dreamweaver acts as a bridge between the user and server-side code.  Therefore it is never recommended to alter what dreamweaver is trying to create under the hood because there's a lot more going on in the PC's memory that's handling the changes.
I don't actually know what the numbers are after the parameter name, but that's probably got something to do with it.

Try deleting this parameter entirely using the wizard and then re-creating it again, referencing the session variable from within dreamweaver's wizard dialog.

Actually, this would be delete/no refund as there is no confirmation on the answer.

I did a total reload of DW and all worked fine, for some reason my DW was courrped and that caused me the problems.
