server/remote "Loading..." hangs

Anyone know how a make this not happen? It seems to be faster when I log on as administrator rather than an EU.

Do you think you could be a little less cryptic with your question?

Sorry. This is in refrence to the remote web workplace. when logging into the http:server/remote user name and password are accepted and you sart to get the main menu screen the bar with the SBS logo comes up along with the links log off and main menu at the top. Below the bar in the middle of the page "Loading..." appears before bringing up the main menu. I can click the man menu link and the menu responds wich can be a bit much for EU. If you set it there long enough it will bring it up on its own.
Sounds to me like your Antivirus is running rampant on these files.  What AV program do you have installed on the server?

If it's Symantec, ETrust or McAfee check out http://support.microsoft.com/kb/821438

The other thing that can cause this is if you have a second server on your network that is not turned on or if you HAD a second server that is no longer there.

There is no anti virus on SBS as of now still researching to find what to use. (Everything else is Mcaffe on a current grant number)

SBS was the last server added and nothing has been removed just demoted.
What do you mean SBS was the last server added?????  You can't just add an SBS machine to an existing network.

Well, actually you can, but it's not as simple as that.  The ONLY way to add an SBS to an existing domain is by explicitly following this KB article:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/884453.

Howver, you will note that this is not recommended as a migration or upgrade path.

Can you explain a bit further what you did, and what other servers are on your network?

I follwed the KB article you mentioned. It worked pretty well just followed the instructions. This was back in April-ish.

I have 2 NAS, 3 app a backup DC a SQL, WEB and a utility (cameras Epo ect.)

Yes all servers are in the SBS Server OU. The main menu only gives the administrators a link "connect to servers" The EU main menu dose not have that link. They do have the "connect to my computer at work" link. I think file is client.aspx or possilbe what ever tells it to use client.aspx vers. admin.aspx
Tork4840,

You need to modify the registry key as I described above.  That is what generates the menu page.  You'll note that there are two main keys there, KWLinks and AdminLinks (KW stands for Knowledge Worker).  Disabling the AppTS key should stop the menu page from trying to connect to those servers which is what's causing the delay.  Obviously they aren't connecting because the menu item isn't appearing on the page.

That fixed it. Thank you
