Hp nc6000 touchpad not working
I have a HP compaq nc6000 laptop.
The laptop is normaly used in a docking station with a monitor and external mouse and keyboard.
When the owner took the computer on a trip he found the touchpad and the eraser head mouse did not work.
This Laptop does not have a Enable/Disable button for the touch pad,
The device manager shows the device. and it says it is working
I updated the drivers,
Still no touch pad. or Eraser head mouse
Under Mouse on Control panel
The hardware tab says Synaptics PS/2 port Touchpad, (Device is working properly)
There is nothing under Device Settings
The OS is as it was shipped. XP PRO.

I The only two usable options, Under Advance -> Device Options That relate to the mouse
where is Legacy USB
and mulit pointing devices.
I Disabled the Multiple pointing devices it was Enabled
and the Touchpad and Erase mouse are now working.
We will see if we need to put it back latter. When we put it back on the docking
station .
or the Bios need to be refresehed.
I hope this helps others. :)
