I have set up a new server for incoming email attachments.  We run Exchange as our main server, but it seems to have problems with the volume of attachments we recieve and will hang and lock up the Queues.  I have installed and setup Fedora 5 and basically created a subdomain pointing at this server.  I need to have incoming emails filtered through procmail and dump the attachments into the Users Home directory on the Redhat box based on subject.  The users are mapped via windows to this server and can then just open up the attachments from their windows PC's and I don't have to worry about Exchange blowing up again.  I only need DWG, DXF and PDF's to be put in the directories.  Anything else will go to NULL.

Thanks,
Joe

I wouldn't use ProcMail for this - I'd use MIMEDefang --> http://www.mimedefang.org

ProcMail won't allow you to selectively strip attachments like that. MIMEDefang let's you manipulate E-Mail at a level that's best described as "surgical".

That was quick and easy!  The software will do exactly what I want and probably some things I didn't think about.  Now I just have to get it configured to filter correctly.

Thanks,
Joe
