Network services will not start

We have an exchange 2003\Windows server 2003 DC that has been running fine up until today. We restarted the server and 3 services will not start. Com+Event, Network Connections and Shell hardware detection all hang at "starting". We have no idea what happened to this server. Here are the netdiag and dcdiag logs

We are really stuck. Any ideas or resolutions would be great. after 4 hours of troubleshooting, I've had no luck.

Wow! That was a lot of information to go through, but what stands out is that the gateway 192.168.1.2 can't be found:

"Default gateway test . . . : Failed
Pinging gateway 192.168.1.2 - not reachable
No gateway reachable for this adapter."

If it's there and did not answer the ping, something may be in stealth mode [don't respond to ping requests]. Is it a router or another machine?

That's the only thing that really stands out.

can you tell us what all error mesages you have in the event viewer. In the system logs and the application lgos..

It's pretty clear, the gateway 192.168.1.2 is not up.

remove the following entry from your routing table..

192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.17 192.168.1.17 20

as it stands all traffic for the 192.168.1.0 network will pass through gateway 192.168.1.17

It turns out it was a not fully installed WIndows Update. Had to use up an M$DN subscription incident. This update did not fully install and killed a couple of services.
