Hi Experts,

I have seutp a vpn connection between our client office in UK to our India office. We are using Cisco vpn 4.0 utility to connect remote vpn concentrator in UK. we do have checkpoint firewall in place with ipsec passthrough enabled.
Our vpn connects fine to remote vpn concentrator. We are also able to connect remote mapped drive successfully, the problem is this : when we connect to remote source safe server thruogh remote mapped drive , the connection remains very slow, every checkin and checkout and other operation in VSS explorer remains slow. Normally takes more than 1 min. to open any folder in VSS.

Our bandwidth is 256 kbps and remote bandwidth is also fine. At the time of vpn connection bandwidth remains idle, i.e. there is not heavy use of bandwidth also.

could you please help me out to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

please treat this issue as urgent.

regards,

Globrin.

First of all, move over to 4.8 version of VPN Client which is much stable and bugfree.

2. Add the hostname of the server to the 'hosts' file of the vpn client and see if that makes any difference. I presume, you know how to do that.

If it still doesn't work, we may need to tweak MTU which creates problem usually but we will come to that eventually.

Cheers,
Rajesh
