When I import a 700 mb text file into sql, i get the following message:
Error at source row 577960. Too many columns found in the current row; non-whitespace characters were found after the last defined column's data.

Any advice on how to process this file successfully?

Make sure your row delimiter matches the delimiter in the text file.  In other words, verify that the text file uses the same row delimiter (CrLf or Cr or Lf) as you have indicated in your DTS package.

I have went through and tried each and every row delimiter option to no avail.
What else do you recommend?

Thanks for your help.

You open the text file with a hex editor and verify what row delimiter it is using.
Verify that row 577960 does in fact have the right number of columns.

I opened the file, removed some rows and then it worked fine.
Thanks.
