Simple Script Reqest to install printers for all users of a windows 2000 workstation on Active Directory Domain.
Hello, thanks for taking the time to read my question.
This is the scenero, I work for a school with 120 desktops running windows 2000, i want a script that will meet the following objectives.
The printers used are HP 2200 business Inkjets of which we have 20. This only allows 20 of the 120 desktops to print.
The printers do not have printer servers just connected with parrellel lead to a nearby desktop.
If I install a printer on the machine, then share it lets say \\roomno\printerno and log onto another machine in the room browse
active directory and install it, it can print over the network nicely as you expect.
My problem is that printer is not installed for all users that log into that station, how can i install the printer so that all users
on the workstation can print to it? Also id like the installation scripted so that it silently installs the printers with no user input or messages.
I dont care what scripting language you use as long as its reliable and comes with windows. ie. no additional cost in tools.
The users are just domain users with no addition rights assigned to them. Each room is represented by a O.U.
