One of two things is happening. &nbsp;The default drivers conflict in SP2 for XP, so you have to download newer drivers. &nbsp;Or, the system is trying to share an IRQ, address or DMA, and the card doesn't do that. &nbsp;Try downloading the newest set of drivers and moving it to a different PCI slot. &nbsp;

I'm having problems getting a Yamaha A301-G50 / YMF724 sound card to work on my machine. My motherboard is an Asus A7N8X-X. I have disabled sound on the motherboard and when XP boots, It installs the drivers for the sound card and reboots. But during the boot stage, it hangs for ever and I waited for a very long time.<br />
