I can't get a Yamaha A301-G50 / YMF724 sound card to work on my machine
Hi Folks
I'm having problems getting a Yamaha A301-G50 / YMF724 sound card to work on my machine. My motherboard is an Asus A7N8X-X. I have disabled sound on the motherboard and when XP boots, It installs the drivers for the sound card and reboots. But during the boot stage, it hangs for ever and I waited for a very long time.
Can anybody help?
TIA

One of two things is happening. The default drivers conflict in SP2 for XP, so you have to download newer drivers. Or, the system is trying to share an IRQ, address or DMA, and the card doesn't do that. Try downloading the newest set of drivers and moving it to a different PCI slot.
