Hi Experts

Recently, my organization has been recieving a lot of spam, where the message just contains an image w the words in it. This makes it hard for some filters, since there is no text, but text in the image. Is there a way to block all external incoming messages from the exchange server itself that contain images ir would I need a 3rd party?

I know its not very practical to block all external email with images in them but we need a way to stop this, even if it is temporary.

Thanks.

Most people are being hit by these types of spam messages.

You are going to need to use third party software to block these types of messages. If you are on Exchange 2003 then IMF is making an attempt to deal with these messages, but I am still seeing a lot slip through.

Thanks Simon. I really doubted there was a neat and easy way to do it.

These messages are becoming a real problem, since I believe they are embedded in HTML, which will automatically download the image (Correct me if I'm wrong though).

Ill still check out IMF as you suggested though.

Thanks again.

Most of these messages have the attachment embedded in the message. I have picked a few apart and when you look at the message it is just the attachment code.
If it was an external image then it would be easy to block, and easy to shutdown the source.
