Printer Test Page One Word Only "Congratulations"

I'm trying to print to a shared printer, which is an HP Laserjet 4. The host printer can print without any problems.

However, when I try to print from the network client, the test page looks as follows: there is the usual Windows logo and "Windows XP Printer Test Page" across the top. Then it says underneath the one word "Congratulations". There is none of the usual text which I would expect to be beneath that. Also, the font of the word "congratulations" doesn't look right. It is smaller than usual and the wrong font.

I've tried rebooting both machines. And I've tried re-installed the network printer no the client machine. These machines have both been printing to that same printer for a long time and so I'm struggling to know what has caused the problem.

Any ideas?

Hi peparsons,

It appears you are only getting a partial test page print out - the "congratulations!" is actually the first line after "Windows XP Printer Test Page", but you're not getting the rest (ie, If you can read this information, you have correctly installed your HP laserjet 4 series printer)

I would suggest you download and install the updated laserjet 4 postscript driver from the below link, then try printing a test page again
