Veritas errors when backing up exchange store

When I back up the exchange store the backup stops about half way through it throws up a tape error and job monitor reports insert media. The tapes have been alreay changed to new ones but the error still occurs, if I change the exchange backup to mailbox backup then it runs fine every time. The version is 10d there is plenty of space on the tape for both type of backups the tapes are set to always be over written.

does it give a veritas error code to work with??

soundsa like you need a firmware upgrade on the tape drive

Would disagree with firmware upgrade as it works on other types of backups.
We need the veritas event code or the error in the windows event viewer please to provide more information.
May i ask if the veritas is fuly patched and the latest tape drivers are installed

was just speaking from experience... its the first thing recommended by veritas paid support

I would disagree with tape cleaning.  Sid says that he's already changed out the tapes.

Hi, below is the error, this error does not occur if the tapes are formatted first, tpae drivers for both veritas and the tape unit are latest

Its not possible to print post the logs. the solution is format the tapes before use and everything runs fine
