hi team,

how come if i make a document in fireworks 8 with a width size of 168.8 px i cant save it and i get the following message: could not save the file.an internal error occured.

but if i change the width size to 168 or a normal size without the dot, then i can save it!?

sometimes i realy need the dot to specify the exact size.is there an other way to do it?

thanks!

khaled22,

Have you tried using inches instead of pixels? If you use inches, you can go out several decimal places.

MHenry,

thanks for the idea!to be honest i havnt thought about it to use Inches because i only work with pixels but i did a google search and found a good pixels to inches coverter at  http://www.classical- webdesigns.co.uk/resources/pixelinchconvert.html

but still i cant save it in fireworks somehow?!

here is a example of my input for a document size:

Width 2.34 Inches (168.83 pix)
Height 0.42 inches (30 pix)
Resolution 72 P/I

and this is the message i get afteri hit the save button:

could not complete your request.
an internal error occured.

i hope its enough information!

cheers,

K22

khaled22,

There must be some other issue. Works for me in both Fireworks 8 and MX2004. Although, it does always default to pixels. When I reopen the file it's actually 2.3333 or 168 pixels.

That's the closest I've been able to get.

interesting....
