Sending XML Files

We need to receive an XML files from several of our business partner sites and I'm looking to find the best architecture for this.

We are ok processing the files as we receive them but we are trying to find a generic approach for all partners to send the XML file to us and then we can give them guidelines on a common approach to take.

They are on different software platforms so the solution must take this into account and we're probably looking at them sending the file either from a web page or from server side processing.

Thanks

Rex

Hi Rex,

This seems to be a case that calls for a web service. You can implement a web service and expose it to your partners. Then can then submit their XML file to your service where you can validate it and process it.

You can do this in any language, or with any platform. OPS is an open-source platform for XML processing that contains a pipeline engine where you can describe a sequence of operations like get XML, validate it, transform it, store it in database.

I hope this helps,
