FTP Sync tool

Hi there

I'm searching for a tool that gives me the possibility to sync a remote located file on a FTP server with a desktop computer.
it should be command line based and able to compare files with the same name without downloading the whole file first.

the tool should be executable on a windows2000/xp host

and best of: it has to be freeware

a scheduler would be a nice bonus

I came about some tools but none fit my needs.

any suggestions?

thank you in advance

If you have SSH access, you can try WinSCP:

@NAORC: thx but the sync function isnt free :-(

@Pryach: thx but in this case I can't handle the keyfile issue - it has to be pure FTP - sorry

thx - I've allready had alook at rsync

there's one fact I forgot: the synchronizer could get into a state where it could be published - so I'm rather not keen on auotmating compiling actions for an automated installation

but thanks

Super Flexible File Synchronizer works great and has command line options.
You can run from scheduler, as a service, or form a batch file.

has to be freeware (best GNU) in order to distribution or publishing issues
