Reformatting Compaq tc1000

hi i have been given a  compaq tc1000 and it has few viruses and rubbish on it so i wanted to format it. the problem is my father(whos it was) cannot find any of the discs that came with it and as it ihas all the different software on for the tablet functions i was wondering if there is a way of downloading them from any where?
also do you just put normal windows xp on(for which i have disc) and then  update tablet version from microsoft?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
thanx in advance

Lorna,  If you have your XP cd then you can boot from that and remove the partition, that should remove everything on the drive, shut down and then restart, follow the options to install and you will get options to install onto unallocated space, it also gives you the option of doing a FAT32 or NTFS partition and Normal or Fast format, then the rest is straight forward.
