Does anyone know where this error comes from : method '~' of object '~' failed

This is the strangest and hardest error to track down that I have run across. It happens in at random times in different applications I have written, running on different machines, and finally compiled on different systems. The only thing that is common to all is that all the apps where written in VB6. Is this bug in VB6 itself ? Anyone have any clue what could produce this error or even better how to troubleshoot and solve it ??

This is the exact error:

Run-time error '2147024832 (80070040)':

Method '~' of object '~' failed

Any ideas ?

You really need to provide more information.  The code causing the error
would be helpful.  But give either or both of these a shot:

PRB: Improper Installation of MDAC May Return Error Message "Method '~' of
Object '~' Failed" at Run Time with ADO Application

PRB: Error -2147467259 (80004005) When Visual Basic Client Calls a Method on
a COM Object

I took a look at the some of the different apps that are producing the error. Each one is using ADO, so I do believe that both of you are more than likely correct. I have not had the time to actually read each article in detail and try the fixes, but I will in the next day or so. Thanks for the help and point to come shortly !
