I have a server out of state with a sonic wall soho. I have the admin office in another state with a tz170. The tz170 location wants more reliable printing so i recommended we create a vpn between locations with a destination to the netwook. This would make a persistant route for ip addressed printers. The question how do i make this vpn between to two devices so the server side will see the other network? Server side private side is 192.168.1. class c the admin side private side is 192.168.2. class c. i have the public info but wish not to share in a public form. a step by step would be great!

Hello onestoppchelp, make sure your gateway has IPsec, and PPTP enabled. Enable port forwarding to the device using protocols you desire. You'll need to designate the static internal IP for the printers and the port range you want  forwarded to it. This should do it....Booda2us

Maybe I'm think differtly. I was thinking of making a vpn from the server firewall SOHO to the Admin office TZ170. I make a vpn to the public ip of the admin office with a destination of the entire scope. That went pretty easy. The question I have is how do I setup the TZ170 to accept this connection?

Configure the 'Workport' to allow your VPN access, also  you can use the Object-based Management to define your service, and interface. You can do this also in your NAT policies on selective source/destination/source translations. Check this link:

optionally contact me if you want me to send you the technotes...This should walk you thru with simple substitutions for your own VPN....Booda2us
