Hello all,

I have two Oracle 9i servers. I have recreated everything on the backup server from the production server.

I want to recreate the roles from the production box on the backup server, how can I transfer the roles easiest?

Thanks

Do a full export, but with ROWS=N parameter
Find the ROLE commands in the export file using "grep" or something similar. Redirect the output to a file and use that file to create roles on your target database

Or

You could look at the source database's data dictionary views and use dynamic sql to extract and create the DDL for the ROLES.
