New user not showing up

I just added a new user to our W2K Server ( Standard ) Domain. The user name was accepted along with the password, however the user does not show up under 'Users'.  I went to a security group I intended to add this user to and was able to add him, and he DOES show up under the members of that group, however he still does not show up under Users on the Domain controller ( or the backup domain controller on this segment ).

I feel as tho I've just entered the twilight zone. :[

Might somebody have a cure or workaround to allow me to see this user? I need to alter his profile for terminal services and hope to have him running by Wed.

Thanks!

in active directory users and computers go to view and select "advanced features"
then rightclick on your domain in ADUC and choose find and seach for the missing user.
if the user shows up, go to the properties of that user, and then go to the object tab.
on the object tab you will see the 'canonical' name for that user which will tell you where the user is in the AD tree.

That was it.
Somehow I created his domain acct outside of the Users group. Probably because I created the user by right clicking on the domain instead of Users.

Thanks for a quick resolution!

that will do it....

what you did was create it in the root of the domain, rather than in an OU.
