Hi,

im trying to install a usb keyboard.  it prompts me for a HID Complaint keyboard driver.  it installs but fails every time saying that the drivers are win95 or later or something.

i have xp pro on a dell inspiron 6400 laptop.  I have just reformatted the hdd and re-installed windows.  installed all chipset and device drivers everything works perfect apart from the keyboard.  The k/board worked fine before i formatted.

i also have other usb devices plugged in and they work fine.  just seems to be keyboard related.  ibe tried other k/boards

did you install the laptop system software first? seen many issue's on dell laptops where that software was either not installed first or not installed at all.
