the connection with the server was reset

I am trying to download the latest symantec enterprise edition from their website, I can download other files
both .zip and exe but when I try to download the big file 400+ mb I immediately get the message
the connection with the server was reset.

I am on a SBS 2003 domain, behind a sonicwall 3000 pro series firewall, was wondering if the MTU setting on the firewall might ahve something to do with it or if there is a setting in group policy that doesnot permint files larger than a certain size.

MTU on the router to be 1492

Please use download managers

Also if you are downloading from sites like rapidshare or megaupload you are bound to get error if you are a free user.

So if my MTU is set at 1500, is that ok.
I will try a download manager but the question is, since I can download the file at home (not behind the firewall or connected to the server, is there a setting that is preventing me

set  mtu to  1492 not 1500

also please specify from which site are you trying to download
also might be due to disturbence in internet line.

But flashget is the best solution for this kind of problem

Also check with the isp for this kind of a problem

It is symantec and I have to enter a serial number to get to the dowload page, do you think I can use Flashget on symantecs site.
Also, if I change the MTU to 1492 will that affect anything else,
can I do it remotely

just download as you normally do it will automatically intergrate with flashget.

Or just drag the download to open flashget it will ask for confirmation click ok
