Clip Organizer cannot complete the operation.

MS office 2003 SP2 with all patches.
When attempting to insert clip art that is searched from the web, the following error appears:
Clip Organizer cannot complete the operation.
Error Code 0x800C0008

Need help on this one.
Here is what I have done so far.
MS KB Article was no help: 897754
User is local administrator of pc.
Logged in as Another administrator.  Same error.
Just for kicks I turned the windows xp firewall off.
Launched Word in safe mode.  same error
Cleared IE cache and selected "every time I view the page"
Put http://office.microsoft.com in the trusted sites in IE.  I won't take the entire path in the KB article. http://office.microsoft.com/clipart
Reset all defaults of IE.
Still receive error.
I CAN insert clips that are in the local but not the ones that show the globe (found in the MS online clipart gallery)

Thanks,
Mike

Running the re-install now.  Strange, it doesn't say anything about re-applying security patches IF it works.
Hello mcrossland!

I would anyway...just check to be sure:

Install ALL Windows SPs, Updates, and Patches:

It's important to ensure that you have installed all available Windows Service Packs, updates, and patches.  This helps to eliminate known issues.

For Windows XP see:  http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us

OK.  I tried option 1 and still receive the error.

Proceeding with option 2.

Safe mode:
Mdac will not install:  This version of mdac 2.8 RTM in incompatable with this version of windows.  All the features are currently part of windows.

Jet4 SP8:  Stated that the version installed was newer than the version trying to be installed.  Install exited.
Hi mcrossland,

Check out this troubleshooting guild for the Error Code 0x800C0008

http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/0x800c0005.htm

My guess would be the Norton Internet Security fix or Internet Explorer repair
OK guys,
I figured it out.  After sleeping on a possible solution came to me.
I use a watchguard x1000 firewall which doesn't simply pass everything on port 80.   Every internet browsing traffic has to go through the ringer of rules, etc.
I have a special port 80 filter for sites that I trust on the firebox.
I put in the IP address of office.microsoft.com as one of the sites that can bypass the regular http proxy and simply go out through port 80 without being examined.
Tested and it worked just fine.

Thanks for your comments very much,
Mike
Doesn't matter if points are refunded.   I just wanted to make sure this remained a PAQ with my last post as the accepted answer so that this solution can be found by others.
Yup, I agree with mcrossland, the solution is the most important thing here.
