Why can I not sync Exchange Public folders with PDA devices?

I've been researchng this for a bit now and apparrently no one offers this ability. The ones that do offer it do not offer true syncing because the Public folders end up appearing as regular folderrs but with an asterisk beside them or even other, more convoluted results.

Anyway, I want to know why syncing Public folders is such a big deal. What is the problem with them? Is it the design of the database that houses the Public Folder store or...???

Thanks.

Microsoft haven't provided a solution, so everything that is done by third parties is a fudge - usually through Outlook.

I believe that Intellisync will do public folders.

As will Pocket Mirror. http://www.chapura.com/

Yeah, I've got those on my list thanks to you. I also found one from www.good.com that I'm waiting to demo now. But I was just wondering what the problem is with the Public folders. I did some research on the Exchange team blog and found some good info about teh future of Public fodlers but nothing on the technical details of why it's sucha big problem to sync them today. Thanks.
