i need to make a script to find a record.

if i want to find 6/27/2006 and office1 employee from report table on this file...

ok, done. I can't access my server now, can I put the file back on yours? I saw it is accessible by ftp but anonymous users are rejected...
if you give a temp account, I'll upload the file immediately.

In order to do a find based on the category field, you need to have that field available on the layout you're doing the find from.

Then you can create a script that will perform the find.

you don't really need a field if the search params are given in the script. my example was supposed to show that, but for some reason, I can't access my ftp server if I am not reaching the server from my location or another location which is also a customer of the same provider. Lovely provider...
