Forwarding Email to External Contacts from External mail accounts doesn't work

I have a WIN2K Exchange setup.  I have a contact created for a Blackberry and an email account with it forwarding a copy of the email to the contact address (the Blackberry).  If people email that person from within the organization, the forwarding works. However, if an external email comes into the organization into the user's email account, they receive it in the mailbox, but it doesn't forward it to the Blackberry.  The Messaage tracking says NDR geneerated, but that message is not to be found.

Does your email go out via an ISP or other SMTP service? Without the NDR it is difficult to know what the problem is, but it could be something blocking the message because it hasn't originated from your domain.

It is using DNS to send straight from the server.

I figured this out.  I believe the receiving servers were having issue with this forwarding.  However, I created an SMTP connector to send it out and the forwarding started working.  I didn't use a smart host or anything.  Thanks for the help.
