Refreshing Grid View

Hi, I am very new to web development so please go easy if the following question is absurdly simple ;-)

I am using Visual Studio 2005, with VB.Net to develop a web-site, which is utilising a SQL Database.

On one page, I have a search facility which is activated by a button. This search populates a temporary table, which I have bound to a gridview on the same page.

However I do not know how to refresh the gridview when the underlying table changes.

Any help to get me going again would be very much appreciated.

thanks...
...Steve

As additional comment - I have played around with the gridview.databind, but I am not sure where to put it.

For the moment it is on pageload, but then the gridview always displays one search behind the current one. Any suggestions of where it should go - or a better way of refreshing ...

... Thanks (again)
Steve

you can do that by rebinding the data or use the .Refesh of the grid view...but  if you are using ASP.NET  make sure you understand STATEVIEW and ASP.NET page life cycle...
