I am trying to Sync some data (not full database, but selected database) between 2 mySQL server that is not connected via LAN.

I and trying to use VB to export the data to an XML file, and, import it to another mySQL server.

May I know is there any simple way to export and import the XML file? I am totally new to XML. May I have some sample/direction?

Thanks in advance.

If you are trying to synch the data there may be easier ways to do so;

I would reccomend that you export the data from one as a series of SQL statements and another to execute the SQL statements.  That way you know everything has been exported that you want and they will be re-inserted the way you retreived them.

You would need to use the mysql dll for parsing the data - or use one of the batch scripts.  There is information in the help file about running exports to SQL.

XML is good if you want to go across database platforms - as if you have the schema correct you can then modify the inserts; tailoring for the destination database,

If you want just to go from like to like - SQL exports would perform the job much easier.
