EAServer Connection Cache Problem

Greetings All,

I am attempting to create a connection cache in EAServer.  In this case the database is SQL Server and it is accessed via NT Security.

I have an ODBC System DSN on my computer.  It works fine for PowerBuilder.  But I can't get it to work in the connection cache.

I also tried JDBC but did not have success with that.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Are you running EAServer as a service?  If so, try changing the account it is running under from the default LocalSystem account to that of an actual user that has permission to access the database.

Michael,

I was not running it as a service.

Thanks for that.  I am experimenting with Appeon Server and the trial version requires that I run EAServer 5.3.  Frankly I couldn't find a download anywhere on sybase.subscribe.net for 5.3, so (since it is not a production server).  I installed a 5.3 ebf over 5.2.

Once I restarted the server, both jdbc and odbc connection caches worked (at the ping did).

But that is excellent information because I will be running EAServer as a service when I am ready to go into production.

Thanks!!
