In vb6 writing reports was a real pain.  I am rewriting my app in vb.net and am about ready to write reports.  Since I use the standard version of visual studio I do not have crystal included as part of the package.  I have not investigated the report writer in vb.net and don't intend to unless you guys tell me its the best thing going.   So my question is whats the best way to go with the report writing?  Is there an easy to use third party package that I should be looking at or is the vb package ok.

Besides the basic database reports I'll need to create PO's, invoices and mailing lablels.   Company information is kept in a table so I need to dynamically pull the company info into the report header.

Thanks.

In my opinion, you probably would be better off getting crystal reports.  It's been my experience that the "customer" is not really interested on how you got it done, but the way it looks.  Crystal still remains a very powerful usage report making utility.  The only thought I have to your delima, is maybe using MS access to push your data to, and then run the reports using MS access.  Downfall to that, is your using a second type of program to generate the report, instead of having it all built into one.
