Console Operation communication error.

I have  a cable directly connected to the pc from the as400, it was working well and now it shows the following message:
communication error validating the connection to AS400 connection XXXXX error code:10060.
My AS400 version is 5.1 ( model 820) and the PC operating system is Windows 2000.

Re-boot the PC, and then try to connect again.
Does it prompt you for the service tools profile and password? e.g. 22222222

I already restarted the PC and nothing appears , at first the status is  connecting console then changes to disconnecting and finally shows the message.

You can reset the Ops console line, using this procedure from IBM documentation:

To reset the direct attach Operations Console line on an iSeries or AS/400 system, do the following:
1 Place the system in manual mode using the Remote Control Panel or the System Control Panel.
2 Arrow to Option 25, and press the Enter key.
3 Arrow to Option 26, and press the Enter key.
4 Arrow to Option 65, and press the Enter key.
                 System Reference code D1008065 may or may not be displayed.
5 Arrow to Option 66, and press the Enter key.
                 System Reference code D1008066 may be displayed.

Then try to connect again.
There are other possible problems, such as a loose or faulty cable.  Or the PC configuration may be corrupt, which means you need to delete and recreate the Ops console connection.

Another quick note:  IBM released an alert about installing Microsoft Security Update for Windows (KB911280) because it will prevent Ops console from connecting. You can check if it is installed, and remove it, using Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.

I try the manual mode options , but nothing happens, then i removed the  Microsoft Security Update for Windows (KB911280)  and it works.
