RUNNING SCO UNIX 507 ON DEL POWEREDGE 700 WITH RAID 5 CONFIGURATION ON LAN NETWORK WITH MICROSOFT 2003 SERVERS

USES "TELENET PRO" AS TERMINAL EMULATOR FOR RUNNING UNIX IN CHARACTER BASED MODE ACROSS LAN NETWORK

THE ERROR "ALLOCB FAILED - NSTRPAGES EXECEEDED" APPEARS AT DIFFERENT TIMES

WHEN THE FIFTH TIME THE ERROR IS DISPLAYED THE UNIX SYSTEM "FREEZES" ON ALL ETHERNET COMMUNICATIONS

UNIX SYSTEM HAS TO BE REBOOTED TO RETURN NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS

THE SYSTEM ALSO RUNS "TTY'S" ON SERIAL FROM THE UNIX SERVER WITH NO EFFECT ON THE SERIAL TTY'S FROM THE "FREEZE"

SYSTEM HAD NETWORK CARD CHANGED AND UPDATED DRIVERS - NO EFFECT

PLEASE RESPOND WITH ANY SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEM

THANK YOU

Please don't use ALL Upper case for your text (hard to read!).

You need to increasing NSTREAM and NSTRPAGES (kernel parameter):

Value           Default         Min             Max
NSTREAM         64              1               32768
NSTRPAGES       500             0               8000

run scoadmin to change the kernel parameters (remember to relink the
kernel after change the value).

then reboot your box.

Please read the following docs:
http://docsrv.sco.com:507/en/PERFORM/streams_rsc.html
http://docsrv.sco.com:507/en/PERFORM/streams_monitoring.html
http://osr5doc.ca.caldera.com:457/PERFORM/kernel_configure.html

Good luck!
