POP3 Connector won't remove emails from POP account once downloaded

The POP3 connector in Exchange (built into SBS 2003) works, but leaves messages alone on the POP3 side. I would like it do be deleting the emails from the POP3 account, once downloaded into Exchange and delivered to the respective mailbox. Is theere a hack for that? Am I missing an obvious option somewhere?

Hi gigelkent,

It SHOULD remove the messages if you configured it through the Configure Email and Internet Connection Wizard (CEICW -- which is linked as Connect to the Internet in the Server Management Console > Internet and Email)

Unless you have some other setting on your POP3 server that keeps the messages there, it's not something that the POP3 connector would normally do.

Correction, I guess it does remove them off MOST accounts. It seems the CBeyond's POP server is the only one not allowing removal. What sucks is that's the client's ISP provider so I don't know if I even have an option.

I just came across an article that mentioned this could happen if there is a corrupt message on the POP3 side.  So, download everything and clear out that remote mailbox... in fact, it may help to delete the mailbox and recreate it.
