Does anyone have any good procedures on how to configure exchange 2003 to retrieve email from an external POP3 server?

Unless you are running Exchange on a Small Buisness Server (SBS), you will have to use a 3rd party POP3 connector.

I personally have never used a POP3 connector. I prefer to use Exchange the way it was intended.

But there are many out there. Check out this link for some connectors:

Thanks for the link! I will look into it further. Just one more question, why is only SBS able to do it?

Because SBS comes with a POP3 connector.
But this will only work on a SBS server. You cannot use it on a regular Exchange server.
