Retaining categorised hierarchy in view sorting

I think this is probably simple :-).  I have a view where the first column is categorised and sorted.  I want to be able to sort the other columns in the view, while keeping the categorised hierarchy of the first column fixed.  At the moment, when I sort the other columns, it sorts everything and I lose the categorisation.  Thanks!

Entirely correct, and AFAIK there is nothing you can do about it in the view.

Still, I have two options for you:
- create as many views as you need different sorting options
- in the view's Column Properties, 2nd tab, select Click on column header to sort
- instead of Ascending, select Change to view
- and select the view

The other option, but that works for one column only:
- in the first categorized column, select Click on column header to sort
- select which other column you want sorted, and how

Since this is a relatively simple view, I think your first option is a good one.  Thanks sjef
