Need free firewall for Win 98 & ME

My friends informed me that as of 7/11/06 Microsoft will no longer offer support for these 2 OS's, 98 and ME.  That's just peachy to say the least for all the people who use these OS's. Anyway they use the free Zone Alarm Firewall but now it's no longer going to support either of those OS's, I read this on their site.  They won't change their OS and I don't blame them, so I am asking on their behalf does anyone know of a Free, not a trial, download of a good firewall for those two systems?  I found Outpost but once you install it it tells you it's out of date and you need to purchase the Pro version.  I know it's all about the money, but why did Gates stop the support? That's another subject.  Thanks for any help you can give me to relate to my friends.  Also it can't be a complicated firewall but one that sets itself up like Zone does.  Appreciate it.  Here is the link -

As far as software firewalls go, I've always liked Sygate Personal Firewall.  It looks like Sygate has been acquired by Symantec but there is still a free version (not pro) that runs on 98 and ME available to download.

I will pass your information onto my friends.  They can download it and then evaluate the program.  Thanks for your input, will let you know how they like it.  To be honest I am surprised that Symantec is continuing with a free version.
Update-don't know why but one of my friends computer's locked up after downloading & installing Sygate.  Had to go into Safe Mode to get it out. the other two have as yet to do so.  Any other suggestions?
That's the only one I ever liked.  Strange that it did that.  I've never had a problem with it personally but I also haven't used it in a year or two.
Thanks for the suggestion but my two other friends also had the same problem.  Anyone know if rtt's firewall is any good?  I saw it in a search and it's firewall is free with 98 and ME support.  Anyone out there use it?

Will certainly give them the link you listed for the older version.....Thanks....will let you know the outcome.
Success!!!  My friends and I both cannot thank you enough for your hard work in trying to find a firewall that supports 98 & ME.  Also appreciate the link to that site, I never knew it existed.  Their PC's are running just fine, no lock-ups, nothing. As that site says, sometimes new doesn't always work.....again......many thanks JFrederick29 you earned the points & grade of A.
