Migration is taking an application or operation system and replacing it with a new one. For example 100 users in a NT environment could be migrated to an Active Directory environment. This would involve planning and project management.

Does that make sense?

Nope .. confused !

How is it related to programming development ?

Say, I am developing the java project on a dev box ?

So, it has to migrate to text box or prod box ?

You have to migrate it?

Who does it ?

Do I do it?

That is dependant on your environment. The the process of migration is moving something to somewhere else. So if you have development tiers like Unit Testing, Integration, Acceptance, Production then you would go through those tiers (migrate could be another way of saying it)

A great book that could be helpful to you is Code Complete

Hope that is helpful.
