2. why is it good or important for Security ?
3. Is it a free program ?
4. Is it  a client and server program ?
5. How to configure it ?
6. Anything related to it ?

1. Websense is a web filtering software (All machines go to websense first, websense looks at its database to see if this should be allowed and makes a decision based on it).


2. Important for Security ? Well, you don't want users browsing porn sites or gaming sites or even sites that introduce virii in your network (such as crack download sites).


3. No it is a commercial program and yearly license.

4. Not really, if you want to have granular information gathering such as 'which user went to which site', this is it. If you have an Active Directory setup, you don't need to install any client, the websense agent will extract the information from AD itself.

5. You have to look at the config manual.

6. lots of material to read on different ways of integrating to it. (network devices or active directory or any directory based authentication systems)
