Exchange 2003 - after mailbox store crash, some messages became unreadable and inaccesible

We have:
Windows 2003 with Exchange 2003.

History:
For some reason the mailbox store became corrupted.
It was corrected using eseutil.
After that I could mount the store again.

Failure:
In many mailboxes there are mails which can't be accessed anymore or deleted from the mailbox. After doubleclicking it gives me "the client action failed".

Thought:
I think the mail messages are "a view" on the effective message in the mailbox store, but after the crash the effective message disappeared and the only thing  left is "the view" in the mailbox of the user. I could be wrong...

What are your suggestions?
Many thanks in advance.

I have seen this before. The cause was that a hard repair (ESEUTIL /P) was run without following that up with ISINTEG -FIX -S servername -TEST ALLTESTS

What happens with ESEUTIL /P is that if there are corrupt pages in the database that cannot be repaired, then ESEUTIL will just delete them. But there are still links in the database tables that point to these deleted pages. ISINTEG should correct these links.

Hope this helps.

That could be it. Thanks for your advice.
