[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Operation must use an updateable query.

I am developing on my office PC and had to reinstall XP Pro the other day - complete format and re-build (yuk)

Since re-installing IIS I am getting this error whenever I try to write to a database.

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Operation must use an updateable query.

Now i am familiar with this and it to do with permissions.....

On 2003 server I go into NT permissions etc and set IUSR to have read and write permissions. I don't seem to be able to achieve this with XP pro. I never had to do this before.

My computer is called OFFICE    so i access a page with http://office/page.asp and it accesses the database fine and all asp runs ok - but no update!

Could uit be connected with the files themselves. I copied these to another machine on the network and then back to my main machine after the rebuild.

Help please

Weird one this .... I have never had to do this before with XP but it appears I have to go to the infividual web folder and set it as Shared for the WEB. Setting the top folder INETPUB does not do the trick (I don't remember doing this even in the past). It workd now ... but only when i set the individual folder within wwwroot to be sghared for WEB sharing.

Please close the question.
