You don't need a driver to read from an IDE optical drive - the motherboard chipset handles it.  Now to use it as a burner, you will need software which supports it, so if you don't have one, check the latest version of Nero.

Im running Win98se on a laptop with no CDROM; Windows is asking me for a driver. The Internal DVD Writer is housed under IOptical's case making it a USB device. Any help?

There should be drivers with the 'IOptical' caddy for use within Windows98, if not see if they have a website.

How has windows detected the device? Is it saying its a 'USB Mass Storage Device'? or an 'Unknown Device'?

Its the USB device drivers you need, once it has those the drive should be picked up as a standard CDROM and will hopefully appear within Nero as a DVDRW.

Sorry - I thought you were running WinXP or Win2K, which would handle it.  Win98SE definitely needs a driver; do you have an exact model number?  There is a forum for Memorex owners: http://forums.windrivers.com/vb/archive/index.php/f-221.html

Thanks Guys! It's being detected as a USB Mass Storage Device... so does this mean I have to download the drivers for the IOMEGA Caddy? The model no is cdrw55292ext... As for the site... I'm currently looking into it...
