Hi Experts,

Does anyone know if it's possible to create an MSGraph object without the need for powerpoint and excel?

I am familiar with the MSGraph object itself and using it with PowerPoint and Excel but i would like to do something a little different.

My goal for now is to be able to create an MSGraph chart and display it on a form. Another problem i have is how to display it on a form. What control would i need?

The reason i cant get started is because you cannot create a New instance of the MSGraph application and Chart objects in VB.Net.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Tom

I'm not sure that it's what you want, but if you add a .Com reference to Microsoft Office Chart - whichever version/s you have - you should be able to drag it from the Components Tag on the Toolbox onto a form.  You are then given the option to select a datasource or hardcode values and choose a variety of graph/chart files with the Active-X Edit command at the bottom of the properties window.

I've only ever used it (Version 10, in VB.NET 2003) for a "picture", so have no experience of dynamic coding with it.  But I wondered if it might help you.
