Unfortunately, this works, but EVERY MESSAGE i get i have to go to properties and delete. This is VERY annoying and time consuming. does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanx all!

Greetings, gyra !

Are you deleting the Inbox.dbx file?  Other data files may be corrupted.

Backup all your emails.  Look for the all Inbox files in the Outlook Express data folder.  Now test.

If no joy, then delete all the files in the Outlook Express data folder. Now test.

Best wishes!

sorry, i delete all the files in the inbox and then re-downloaded them off the server. I'm using IMAP4, but it doesn't come out good same problem
gyra,

You are using IMAP?  You did not mention this info before. When you delete an email in IMAP from Outlook Express, a line is drawn through it.  To delete forever all lined out emails, you go to Edit on top menu and select Purge Deleted Messages. Then the emails are deleted forever from Outlook Express and the server.

I'm not trying to delete forever, outlook says the file is deleted. In order to retreive the file, i have to go into the (in this case) Inbox > properties > Local File > remove Messages. Then i click on to another folder, then back to the inbox, and all my messages appear and i can read them. This has become VERY annoying with this whole thing. Thanx all!
