Error: "The InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be launched. Library not registered."
A client was trying to uninstall his wireless mouse software so he could install a new mouse but when he tries to uninstall the Logitech software for the old wireless mouse he's getting this error:
The InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be launched. Library not registered.
This same error occurs if he allows the new mouse software (Microsoft Intellipoint) installation wizard to attempt to uninstall the currently installed mouse (the Logitech). I tried it myself on his laptop and got the same error. I've done some research and have found some clues that point to this being an InstallShield problem. But the more I read the more it seems that it also could be the way Logitech in this case is interacting with InstallShield. Who knows. Anybody got any useful input on this one? Thanks.

nothing works.
Have you tried uninstalling as a different Administrator user on the same computer?
